Course Description
A CAT R certificate of Competence (COC) entitles the holder to skipper a power vessel of more than 15Hp in inland waters. Inland waters means all waters accessible to the public and includes the waters contained within ports, fishing harbours, lagoons, rivers, dams, wetlands and lakes.
CAT E is more advanced CoC than CAT R for those who also wish to go up to 1nm from shore within 15nm of a safe port in the ocean.
This course is an online course that prepares students for the powerboat theory exam. However students not needing practical training to log additional hours will be given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the vessel before the practical exam is conducted. (Additional course fees may apply for students requiring additional training).
